Asian Ladybugs vs. Ladybugs

The Box Elder Bug is considered a nuisance pest that does not cause economic, aesthetic or structural damage. Their main source of food is how they received their name – the box elder tree. They are primarily found on Box Elder trees as well as maple and ash trees. In late fall the Box Elder Bug will enter voids in houses to over winter primarily attics and wall voids.

Characteristics

Coloring is slate gray to black with orange/red markings. They are typically 1/2 inch long.
